Dr. Ambrad-Chalela was born in Cartagena, Colombia, South America, and received his medical degree from the Universidad de Cartagena in Colombia. He trained in General Surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston and at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, finishing at the University of Washington in Seattle. He did his Vascular Surgery research fellowship at The Hope Heart Institute, in Seattle, under the direction of Lester R. Sauvage, MD. He continued with his clinical fellowship in Vascular Surgery at The Vascular Institute of the Northwest / The Hope Heart Institute, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, under the direction of Kaj H. Johansen, MD, PhD. He then worked in Seattle at Swedish Medical Center with Dr. Kaj Johansen until March 2008, when he moved to the Tri-Cities to open his practice in Vascular Surgery.
